Obituary for Raymond Lamp Jr.
Raymond W. 'Mick' Lamp, Jr., 86, passed away at Ellis Hospital on August 9, 2017 with his family by his side.
He was born in Schenectady on June 1, 1931 to the late Raymond Sr. and Mildred (Peterson) Lamp. Raymond was predeceased by his wife Catherine (calkins) Lamp, his Sisters Shirley (Calvin) Craft and Bernice (John) LaMalfa.
Ray attended Draper school and the school of hard knocks.

He went on to work for Trowbridge Refuse, Empire Paving with Dom Longo, ran a service station with his brother-in- law Cal Craft, was a mechanic for CDTA, worked with his father in law at George Calkins Refuse, owned Ray Lamp's Waste and was a crane follower/operator at GE #273 until his retirement in 1990.
Ray was the president of the Holy Names at St. Mary's Church until its closure.
Ray is survived by his sister Charlotte (Roger) Gauthier, in-laws Leonard and Patricia Calkins and Loretta Calkins, his children: Pamela D. Lamp of Glenville, Raymond E. (Marie) Lamp of Rotterdam, Richard W. Lamp of East Matunuck, R.I., Deborah Shelton of St. Albans, W.V., Robert W. (Mary) Lamp of Princetown, Brian K. Lamp of Alabaster, AL; eight grandchildren: Erika (Frank) Platt, Danielle Lamp, Adina (Evan) DeGeorgio, Sarah Lamp, Tyler, Dylan, Ryan and Madelyn Lamp, along with numerous nieces and
Funeral services for Ray will be Wednesday 10:15AM at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady followed by a Mass at 11AM at St. John the Evangelist Church 802 Union Street Schenectady. Calling hours will be Tuesday evening 6-8PM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in St. Cyril and Method Cemetery in Rotterdam.
